Isn't there some way to play romhacks on the og hardware? (Genuinely asking I have no idea, I'm only familiar with playing romhacks on gameboy or emulators for other consoles)

A lot of people speculating that the OoT remake will be followed by a Majora's Mask remake because it's such an obvious next step when MM reuses more of OoT than many romhacks, but consider: Nintendo is a company that sometimes does weird nonsense instead of the obvious correct move.

I swear in like 20 years we’re gonna be able to emulate NS2 games and be able to make romhacks for certain games. Cause it’s already been done for other games such as NSMB.

yeah as far as I know people could already make romhacks? I kinda get why you'd do something like this in the abstract but I don't feel like Pokemon is a particularly useful place to try it
