We need to fight for Congress to lift the salary cap on social security so the rich pay their fair share. That would fully fund the program for decades to come! This should be a priority for every union because it will benefit all workers’ retirement.

The revenue stream that from inception was supposed to keep SS solvent, has gotten diverted AWAY from the working class. The profits from the post-war explosion of productivity are going to wealthier people who aren't going to NEED SS to stay alive. So we're screwed coming AND going. #RaiseTheCap

If all income in excess of $400,000 were subject to the Social Security payroll tax, Social Security’s solvency would be guaranteed forever. We could also expand Social Security benefits.
There’s no reason even to consider reducing Social Security benefits or raising the age of eligibility.

The *only* logical plan for Social Security is to #RaiseTheCap on taxable income. Any other plan being discussed by Republicans will include slashing earned benefits. Remember that on November 3rd, everyone!

It's important to know how we got here. In the 70s we started valuing capital over labor. All the gains from post-war productivity went to the investor class not the workers who created it. Due to the cap on contributions, SS was starved for revenue as the rich got richer. #RaiseTheCap #MeansTesting

I would be very happy with a proposal to raise the cap on social security, which I believe saves the entire system, and millionaires and billionaires can't complain about a modest cap increase. I'm retiring in '28 and am very alarmed at the state of soc sec and GOP threats against it 😔 #RaiseTheCap

Every earned dollar should be subject to social security withholding, not just those below $184,500.
Means testing would just become a mechanism to take the Social Security benefit (that we all pay into) away from some.
