Joachim Sauer (77) kommt zu "3nach9". Der Ehemann von Altkanzlerin Angela Merkel (72) ist Gast in der Dezember-Ausgabe der Talkshow von Radio Bremen, wie der Sender am Dienstagvormittag mitgeteilt hat. Die Sendung mit Judith Rakers (50) und Giovanni di Lorenzo (67) wird am Freitag, 4. Dezember, um 22 Uhr im NDR, hr Fernsehen und WDR ausgestrahlt. Laut Ankündigung werden ihn die Gastgeber auch zu seiner berühmten Ehefrau befragen.
Seit 40 Jahren gehen Sauer und Merkel gemeinsam durchs Leben, am 30. Dezember 1998 heiratete das Paar. Wie hat er den politischen Aufstieg seiner Frau bis ins Kanzleramt erlebt? Auf diese Frage sind die beiden Gastgeber laut Senderangaben besonders gespannt.
## Mehr als nur "der Mann an ihrer Seite"
In den Medien wird Sauer meist über seine Ehefrau wahrgenommen. Dabei hat er selbst eine beachtliche Karriere vorzuweisen. Der Quantenchemiker lehrte von 1993 bis 2017 als Professor für Physikalische und Theoretische Chemie an der Humboldt-Universität in Berlin. Seitdem forscht er dort als Senior Researcher weiter.
Seine Arbeit findet auch international Beachtung. Erst vor Kurzem nahm ihn die National Academy of Sciences der Vereinigten Staaten als internationales Mitglied auf, und zwar wegen seiner herausragenden Forschung, wie Radio Bremen hervorhebt.
## Diese Gäste sind außerdem dabei
Neben Sauer nehmen fünf weitere Gäste in der Runde Platz. Hundeprofi Martin Rütter kommt mit seiner sechs Jahre älteren Schwester Astrid Windgassen-Frank. Es ist der erste gemeinsame Talkshow-Auftritt der Geschwister, die in einem wenig liebevollen Elternhaus in Duisburg aufwuchsen und sich rückblickend als "Überlebensgemeinschaft" bezeichnen.
Satiriker Florian Schroeder blickt auf das Jahr 2026 zurück und spricht über seine neue Late-Night-Show. Für Psychiaterin Barbara Jost geht mit dem Auftritt ein lang gehegter Wunsch in Erfüllung: Mehr als 25 Jahre träumte sie davon, ein Buch zu schreiben und anschließend mit Giovanni di Lorenzo darüber zu reden. Komplett wird die Runde mit Hans Nolte aus Kirchweyhe bei Bremen. Der 91-Jährige ist Tischtennis-Weltmeister 2026 in seiner Altersklasse.
