I have to say, this was quite a bad sign last night when 🇪🇺President @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu backed away from the #ReArmEurope name of her defence plan and converted to #Readiness2030 - amid criticism from the Spanish and Italian prime ministers that the original sounded too militant.
Asked about the Italian & Spanish objection to the name #ReArmEurope for the EU's defence plan (because it sounds too militant), 🇪🇺President @VonDerLeyen appears to concede that the branding is changing.
It seems the name #Readiness2030 (the White Paper title) will now be used.
