We need scorched earth... not reconciliation. Complete repudiation of MAGA principles and (lack) of values. Criminalization of the worst excesses like the drug trafficking boat murders, ICE murders, corruption and DOJ weaponization. Accountability needs to be a purifying flame.

I find this whole discussion fascinating because I think what it actually highlights is the incomplete reconciliation of a belief system in which the Pope is God's ambassador with modern democratic and geopolitical perceptions.
As a United States citizen, the Pope has the right to vote. As a matter of prudence, the Pope should not vote.
The Pope, as the sovereign of a foreign state, should/should not have the right to vote in the United States.

Capitulating? The only significant piece of legislation the Republicans passed in the last two years was the “Big Beautiful Bill”, which they passed with Reconciliation and no Democratic votes.
