Oh yes! Are they white dogwoods? That would be so pretty with the pink redbuds

I like redbuds.

I like to plane dogwoods among them, because both bloom at the same time and they make a nice contrast one with the other while blooming.

That is so beautiful and makes me very happy.

I plant as many trees as I can each year. Mostly it’s redbuds because those seedlings grow like weeds around the trees I have. But I do have a goal of my my backyard woods being filled with Redbuds🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

This is very cool. From Costa Rica, a radio collared Baird's tapir teaching her offspring how to forage Jícaro Danto (Parmentiera valerii) fruit.
The tree is quite rare -- like cacao and redbuds it has cauliflory (flowers/fruit sprout from trunk not branches).

Agree! Love redbuds…first time I noticed them was when visiting friends in Clear Lake CA many years ago. So beautiful. Tried growing in my neck of the woods but didn’t have any luck. 🌱

We have redbuds, also. I so look forward to them every spring. That’s a very pretty one in the photo.

Spring trips to Grammy and Pappy's meant redbuds blooming pink in the forest. I've adored them ever since, and now two grow in my own yard. 💗🌳

It's a split between the Redbud and Lavender trees. Redbuds are popular trees here.

And do you love redbuds as much as me? I’m blessed to have multiple volunteers in my front yard. Transplanted two of them, one remains. If you want to dig it up and move it to your yard, let me know. I’d hate to have to compost it.

Our currently convoluted reality precluded the Equinox snap of the mysterious seasonal spin of the pointer atop my front yard calendar cairn—to the west for Autumn in this case! Symbolic of the sunset as the year begins to wane, with bonus full fall (harvest?) moon.

It's going to be 43 degrees tonight! I brought in my 3 redbuds trees!

Did you know that Eastern Redbud was named Tree of the Year in Guelph by Guelph Tree Trust? Redbuds are a beautiful, medium-sized tree with bright purple blossoms and heart-shaped leaves.

Nice! I have loads of tiny circles cut out of my redbuds especially but I've never seen an actual leafcutter bee

Io moth caterpillar. I think this one is looking for a place to pupate because they eat tree leaves and it's checking out the Standing Cypress. The spines are venomous. #caterpillars #insects 🌱 #gardening #lepidoptera

2 to issue forth suddenly as water, or as Executive Orders renaming bodies of water America. As pink blossoms from the redbuds, flaunting their promises, their promiscuity. Also, as uterine blood from a woman sent home from the ER...

It’s a gray day, figuratively and literally, so here’s some raindrop-bejeweled viney flora to brighten it.

Thanks! I’m thinking a shade tree, single stem? We already have 2 redbuds in the backyard, and nearby street trees are Sweetgum. Some kind of maple?

Whoopsies yeah forgot to post for a while, life well has been lifing, so yeah.

Today’s Happy: just a lovely quiet and cozy day. Didn’t realize how much I needed a day that was just soft and calm. Did a little puttering in the garden, some snuggling with the puppy, and a nice fire in the fireplace.

lol, congrats on the payoff from your garden. Someone cut down a tree adjacent to my favorite trail, and I think I’m going to plant redbuds and a pollinator garden in new sunlight by the creek. It floods a couple times a year. Should be decent soil to grow from.

mine is 65 south, springfield to branson. in the spring, with the redbuds out, on a sunny morning
