The best part of this regexp is the ? on the third line (which applies only to the g).

Regular reminder that eslint-plugin-regexp is fantastic, very stable, and a great way to avoid annoying ReDOS vulnerabilities. ❤️‍🔥

OMG. It made code that uses regexp to check for negative language. Something that LLMs were architecturally designed to do.

This is hilarious when people think AI is conscious, this is AI failing the smudge test in the most hilarious way...

@slevithan.bsky.social is killing it! 🔥

Steven went so deep into RegExp and helped to improve Shiki's JavaScript engine a lot (which was already based on his awesome `regex` lib)! I would never see myself able to understand RegExp so deeply. Thank you so much! 🤩

Congrats to @jordan.har.band on advancing the proposal for RegExp.escape to Stage 4 today at TC39 🎉

It lets you escape arbitrary strings so they can be used in Regular Expressions.

RegExp.escape("(*.*)"); // "\(\*\.\*\)"

In an early sysadmin role, I'd been asked to make a large change. No-one had told me to use tabs instead of spaces. One quick regexp managed to break the DNS for several million computers. It was fixed within half an hour but that showed me the power of regular expressions.
