You need to know how fast the car is going and what you would like the answer for the drones “speed” to be relative to. The car or the ground? Both answers are correct as long as relativity is defined for each.

ok, but general relativity implies that conservation of energy does not hold.
like maybe 1% of the population really, truly believes in the law of conservation of matter and energy. they wouldn’t *say* it this way but any interrogation beyond the outer layer would reveal some very important pillar of their whole worldview is in plain contradiction of foundational physics
