#RenderDoc
Finally learning compute shaders and they're kinda the best. Even in moldy old GLSL, the simple API and huge parallelism and the cache model make performance tradeoffs feel night and day. And now I finally feel like cracking open nsight and not just renderdoc

do you think there's ffxiv gposers out there taking pictures as renderdoc captures as an equivalent to .raws

RenderDocの自動アタッチがオン(renderdoc.AutoAttach=True)だとプロジェクトを起動できないの、これっぽい

Add support for DXIL shaders · Issue #1718 · baldurk/renderdoc
Description It seems like I am not allowed to use DXIL with RenderDoc. Capturing isn't enabled when doing so. It would be a great feature to be allowed to. I don't necessarily need extensions with ...

Wayland support on Linux · Issue #853 · baldurk/renderdoc
Many Unix-like platforms are in the process of adopting the more modern Wayland protocol in place of X11, so it would be great to have native Wayland support in the RenderDoc in-application API. Cu...

The next 6 SDL3 videos will be posted over the next 2 weeks (Members already have access). In those videos, you will learn how to use fragment shaders with a custom GPU pipeline, renderdoc, and rendertargets. Enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1sb... #sdl3 #gamedev #graphics #shaders

I was working on a Vulkan project, using RenderDoc and Nsight, and started thinking: what if I ported the WebGPU Inspector debugger I wrote to native. So I started working on that. Vulkan, D3D12, Metal, on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Quest.

How is this frame of Animal Well rendered?
An in depth view of a single frame of Animal Well, reverse engineered with RenderDoc.

Fable 5.1 seems better at building and using harnesses in novel contexts than Astra; both built a set of Python tools for doing RenderDoc style interrogation of a running Bevy process, but Fable prioritised spot-checking of key views/materials, opening the app and cycling through a series of preset

Pretty neat! Would have liked to hear more about getting RenderDoc to launch recalcitrant games.

A nice little rendering breakdown of Animal Well, stepping through a frame with RenderDoc.

I love all the zany things that are done in 2D games, and this one is particularly creative.

Renderdoc might be bringing a hydraulic hammer to a simple nail but it does allow for step for step debugging of shaders for a single pixel that might be neat for you purpose.
(It can be a bit annoying to get the debugger to work though)

Has anybody used Renderdoc before? If so, do you possibly know why my teammate would not be having the overlay show up & be able to capture a frame?

Thanks in advance!

Decided to do a bit of coding:
- Visual Studio Graphics Analyzer just crashes both under VS22 and VS26
- PIX only works with x64 and runs DX11 through DX12

How did @developer.microsoft.com hose their own environment so bad that I have to resort to RenderDoc? 😩

Cada dia mais próxima do inevitável: começar a usar o RenderDoc (e finalmente escrever código em C pro driver de vídeo mas essa parte é daora)

Had an amazing evening doing the following:

Instamling/save editing KH2 to load the 100 acre woods map,
Remember/figure out how to use renderdoc on it (on linux)
Looking at noclip.website on the side,

All of that to figure out how they made really cool trees with seemingly incredible UVs
