#Repricing
Chaos, destruction and disregard for the rule of law are causing a repricing of the US writ large. Currency, equities, debt instruments.

I was just at the liquor store and was joking with the check out guy that he was in for a long evening of repricing the Canadian whiskey aisle.

He replied "So I heard."

It's gonna get really real, really soon for a lot of people who voted to deport the brown people.

Quickly repricing some shoelaces to $600…

Hell yes, GREAT news for Patreon creators. Now I just want them to allow tier repricing for everyone. I still don't understand why that needs to be locked to the other billing method.
Huge news on Patreon! Because of the Apple v. Epic ruling, they are not only dropping the 30% Apple Store charge on the iOS app, they are also halting the move to subscription billing for all creators - which would have affected creators like me, who use a "per video" structure than monthly.

Yeah, I also suspect this is part of it, besides unwinding the basis trade, as well as repricing the risk of treasuries themselves, some other position exploded, and they gotta cover
Hi @jeisinger.bsky.social, long time. No, that's not what's going on. Hedge funds et al are likely selling treasuries because their risk models have blown out and they need to delever. You sell what is holding up best, so voila Treasury market strains. This is a hunger for dollars.
Ok what’s going on here?

Yields are going up which means bond prices are going down.
Fewer buyers of the world’s safest asset.

Normally when the economy slows, there’s a flight to safety, not away from it.

Means the world may be abandoning America.

We are flirting with a true crisis.

the global trading system is quietly repricing around a world where the strait of hormuz is a war zone.

Great news! People wasting money on GenAI while failing to make anything in return.

New York City's new tax on expensive second homes has owners and buyers scrambling for loopholes with little success.
Mamdani’s New Pied-à-Terre Tax Leaves Wealthy With Few Loopholes
Second-home owners are repricing, renting out and quietly recalculating. Many will just have to pay up.

Credit markets are flashing bright red.

Korea’s CDS jumped 36%.

Japan’s 34%.

China’s 60%.

Germany’s up 21%.

These are major sovereigns and not fringe markets.

This is repricing at the core.

Gas jumped 23 cents while I was getting a burrito, if you’re wondering how aggressive the repricing is getting.

Pretend for a second that this isn't evil and illegal (it is both, wildly so)

They are going to crash the economy on a pure GDP basis... but they are also going to force a credit repricing. Madness
NEW — DOGE now has full access to HHS Payment Management System, I’ve learned.

The system distributes almost $1 trillion per year in grants (largest in the govt) and supports all of NIH, CDC + many other public health initiatives. Musk guy Luke Farritor is actively delaying payments to recipients.

Some recovery off the lows doesn’t change the message: this is fast-moving repricing.

Trade friction is bleeding into funding markets and equity risk.

If margin cascades continue, the next phase hits Europe and U.S. futures.

Watching closely.

Markets are no longer just reacting to Trump’s tariffs.

They’re reacting to how different parts of the world are — or aren’t — able to respond with monetary policy and decoupling from China.

That’s where the repricing is happening now.

And we’re just getting started.

THE WORLD REACTS TO TRUMP'S TARIFFS.

Markets have spent the past 24 hours trying to figure out how to respond to Trump’s tariffs.

Some places are trying to negotiate.

Others are already repricing.

There’s a split forming—by leverage, exposure, and belief in how real this is.

FEDWATCH: “.. #$NVDA credit default swaps (CDS) widened .. triggering a positive CDS basis.

“This happens when protection demand is rising faster than cash‑bond repricing” — and is “unique for highly rated credits like NVDA, as the phenomenon typically happens when a credit falls into junk status.”

The 4-day drop of 12% in the S&P is astounding, but oil prices (WTI chart from Bloomberg below) fell even more, by about 20%.
Both are part of a significant market repricing of the growth outlook for the global economy.
