unfortunately allowing mythos to edit the time coil has resulted in retrocausal anomalies

look, it's going to find the quantum cheat codes, invent time travel and then PSPACE = P relative to a retrocausal oracle
The fundamental problem with "superintelligence" in the "especially smart AI insta-conquers the world" sense is that there is no 'superintelligence' exception to computational complexity theory and even polynomial time is a colossal pain in the ass when n gets large enough.
even if you take "their model of your model of their model of your model [...]" as noise, it's noise endogenous to your computation. i can spot you an oracle which does a countably infinite regress of computing distributions over distributions and all you're doing is a random walk through hypotheses

When people compare Roko's basilisk (which was more of a shitpost than a joint ideological commitment) with Pascal's wager, it glosses over how these groups do actually believe in retrocausal time manifested by the prophetic future tense; they think this stuff has already happened in the future.

I mean the argument for "they cannot make new erdos problems because they wouldn't be erdos problems" is iron-clad. unless we wanna get retrocausal (in case future beings are reading this in the nested talmudic commentary book, I DO want to get retrocausal, very open to retrocausality)

Matter of fact, it’s all retrocausal,

Retrocausal dream ads are the worst. To see a product and realize, deep in infancy, you dreamed it—that it was put there by a corporation that didn't yet exist

time travel not being a factor in Trek's 32nd century because it's "banned" would make far more sense if the ban was in fact enforced by, say, the Q Continuum, and punishments for evading it ranged from retrocausal eradication of the evader to retrocausal eradication of the evader's civilization

No no no, you don't get it. Surveys are retrocausal! It makes perfect sense. You just have to expand your thinking beyond white western colonial discourses

Incredible that the TERF line is now "court rulings are retrocausal"

People comparing Roko's Basilisk to Pascal's wager for Skynet gives it too much credit. It's literally just Chūnibyō bullshit. It's grown-ass adults telling you about their secret time war against retrocausal mecha satan who they are also tragically destined to invent because of atemporal pact magic

I think it's better to believe that it is; to imagine a future where one could—where one *will*—seize it, unimpeded by retrocausal prophecy.

But sometimes, late at night, when the Real's laws slip away from my skin, I wonder ...
