Based on this logic, my public library should only be making available those books that are on the NYT Bestseller lists.
The current list. Not last month's list of useless tripe. Certainly not anything older or less popular.

Seriously ... WTF?

I asked UNH's archivist to create a file of letters protesting the "weeding" of 30% of the library's books. Future researchers need to know faculty did not let the books "go gentle into that good night" (30+ books on Dylan Thomas to be culled). 🗃️

Today was a PD day, so we didn't see students today, but we're still celebrating crossing the 5,000 book checkout mark this week. It's earlier than got to 5,000 last year & we've had one week less of book exchange. Building a community of readers! #SchoolLibrary #TLSky #EduSky

“For girls and young women, access to books can mean access to language for autonomy, abuse, desire, resistance and lives that fall outside traditional expectations. That is what makes censorship more than a literary issue; it is a feminist one.”

MAGA banned The Bluest Eye, The Walking Dead comics & literally 1984—a book warning about authoritarian thought control. One genius tried to ban Fahrenheit 451 because burning a Bible in a dystopian novel hurt their feelings. Illinois banned book bans. MAGA Republicans silence speech.#momsky#sheshed
