ripgrep 15 is out! Mostly a host of bug fixes, particularly around gitignore. Some minor perf improvements. A couple small features. And (partial) Jujutsu support for gitignore.

ripgrep version 15.0.0 is here and it is a fast, and opensource CLI search tool that recursively searches the current directory for a regex pattern. It's written in Rust and is often cited as being significantly faster than alternatives like grep and The Silver Searcher (ag)

or if you wanna say "i use tools written in rust btw" you can use ripgrep and fd, they are great and imo better than both grep and find

Ripgrep? Not on our watch!

We rewrote Zed’s project search so your first match shows up in milliseconds... not ages like before 😵‍💫

Ported ripgrep to a cross-platform npm package using Zig + WASI. Works on Node.js, Bun, and Deno without native binaries!

I've added an AI policy to ripgrep that was shamelessly copied from uv's policy. I plan to add this to the rest of my projects, but if anyone wants to offer feedback on wording, now would be a good time!

'Hello world' compiles 3% faster and a few bigger projects like Ripgrep and Cargo compile 1.5% to 2% faster. And those binaries are roughly 2% smaller. 🎊

This change will be available in Rust Nightly tomorrow, and should ship as part of Rust 1.93.0 in January.

ripgrep started life in Rust. There was never a "ripgrep in Python."
