En route to LHR for San Fran!
Knitted this little beauty on the long haul flight from LHR to San Diego! All I had to do when I got here was sew it up!
Just gotta press it now and wrap it up for Christmas!

San Diego (SAN) transatlantic increases for 2025:
• British Airways to London (LHR) 777-300ER replaces 777-200ER on 1 flight (other flight is 787-8)
• Lufthansa to Munich (MUC) increased from 5x to 7x weekly
• KLM new route to Amsterdam (AMS) with 3x weekly 787-9

San Diego (SAN) transatlantic increases for 2025:

British Airways will add a second daily Airbus A380 flight to San Francisco (SFO).
From March 29 to May 31, both of British Airways’ London (LHR) to San Francisco (SFO) flights will operate with the A380.
This replaces the previous plan for 1x A380 and 1x 777-300ER flight.

British Airways will add a second daily Airbus A380 flight to San Francisco (SFO).
From March 29 to May 31, both of British Airways’ London (LHR) to San Francisco (SFO) flights will operate with the A380.
This replaces the previous plan for 1x A380 and 1x 777-300ER flight.

Flew from San Francisco to London last night. The plane was half empty. Highly unusual. Apart from during COVID, I've flown on packed flights since the 1980s. And at LHR, T2 was like a ghost town. Something must be causing Europeans to no longer want to come to the States. 🤔

All are Boeings. Next couple of weeks for me is LHR - DUB - LHR - SAN - DFW - LHR - ORD - SJU - EWR - LHR.
Still, saved me four grand just flying to San Diego with the changes and good for the tier point run, I suppose.

Obviously this has no relevance to what is seen on the show, but, it's also a way to see the huge variety of big planes that land into LHR every day, since SAN doesn't get a lot of that.

Having done SAN or LAX to LHR maybe one too many times – I can't even imagine making it all the way to the Atlantic and being forced to turn around. Talk about buzzkills...

I did LHR layover from DUB to SAN. You just go through transfers as normal. The lack of a passport gate doesn’t matter as you don’t show passport on departure at Heathrow anyway except at gate.

Aaaand SkyTeam finally gets on the SAN train. The early departure from SAN is very interesting. Will enable all sort of interesting connections that don’t work with connections at LHR or MUC.

Though my record for economy after a particularly long race/test week was San Francisco to LHR overnight. I fell asleep before pushback and woke as we landed thinking it was midflight turbulence.
In the 2seat rear rows of a 747, apparently the lass in the window seat had to be lifted out!
