Hey, @spsfc.bsky.social!
When are sign ups for judges for #SPSFC5?
I'd like to join the fun again.

📋 Belatedly realised that I hadn’t created an #SPSFC5 Finalists Reading Challenge over on The #StoryGraph for this year’s set 🫢

Have just fixed that, live on TSG now, joining challenges covering all previous #SPSFC rounds.

The runner up for the SPSFC5 was also incredibly good! Highly recommend.
The runner-up in the fifth Self-Published Science Fiction Competition (SPSFC) is ab initio by Jacob Terracina. Is AI legally human? “This was that book that I was reading on train, waiting at bank, at the cafe, and got annoyed every time I was interrupted.”

Winner! As a judge for the SPSFC5 I can say this is well earned. Excellent read. Congrats @nikkinull.bsky.social

Congratulations to the winner of the @spsfc.bsky.social Self-Published Science Fiction Competition 5!
Self Publishing is the current home of science fiction as far as i'm concerned. These authors and their stories are amazing!

And hey, a couple months late (and I'm out of the running for #SPSFC anyway), but one of the nice folks over at Team Space Girls did a video review of my book!

(And correctly called it out for being more Steampunk than Sci-Fi).

All #SPSFC5 semifinalists! 🤩

Our team’s semifinalists for #SPSFC5

Congrats to the Rohan O’Duill and Noam Josephides 🎉

The escape pod, Man With Gun by Tadg Farrington, was one of my personal favourites in our team’s batch, and I’m sorry it narrowly missed out on a semifinal spot.

I highly recommend all three of these 🤩

One of the books in my scout pile for #spsfc5 was impossible for me to put down at the 25% mark, so I finished it. I loved Breakwater by Vivian Wilderbridge! I hope more people discover it 🤩

I.K. Stokbaek's review of Breakwater
5/5: This book has heavy themes of climate change, motherhood, vulnerability, and resilience. It’s set in 2041 Florida, and rising seas are eating away at the peninsula. A realistic disaster happening...

Pleased to report my participation in this year's Self-Published Science Fiction Competition (SPSFC5) with my standalone novel "The Nemesis Effect" from The Nod/Wells Timelines.

Be sure to check out all the great submissions, including those that (like mine) are available to read via KU! 🚀🙂👍 🪐📚💙

No official announcement yet but I have it on good authority that "The Nemesis Effect" has been accepted into SPSFC5 and is currently being evaluated by one of the judging teams. More to come. 🤞
