I suddenly flashed to Dog from ST:LD...

Best Trek creature of all time.

Agreed! And I can tell you, you're in for a really fun treat with this one, especially if you loved ST:LD!😄❤️

I've measured the TNG-era uniform T-shirt I've had for ages now as reference for how big the shoulder-cap black parts could be, though I'll need to add a few rows on due to the T-shirt being a touch small on me. Plus, the ST:LD black shoulders are a bit larger as it is.

But something to start with!

Justified block and a wild af take

Lower Decks is top 5, if not best, Star Trek (imo obv)

ST:LD is an animated love letter to the entire franchise, and it comes through in each episode. I haven't bought the comics, but the strips I've seen are also great.

And I'm not sure about considering Lower Decks cannon. Don't get me wrong I love ST:LD to bits, but let's not mess with the time line over it :)

... what!

Reposting this in honor of Star Trek's 60th anniversary. ST:LD is one of my favorite iterations of the show, but I've been a fan since TOS (Those Old Scientists) 😉
Live long and prosper! 🖖

Oh, no wonder Golden Axe is gonna be comedy; the creator/showrunner for ST:LD is one of the Executive Producers and writing the first episode. Same animation company, too.

I adore ST:LD so much… did you see their choose-your-own-adventure book? I really enjoyed it…

PSA

Just tossing this out there. MAGAts seem to emulate & resemble Pakleds from ST:TNG (Season 2) & ST:LD.

Pakleds r brighter, but the resemblance is uncanny.

sonny now knows both of his names. “sonny” for official/serious, “moopsy” for casual/affectionate.
August 16, 2026 at 1:48 PM
Ok. I am now, finally, caught up on all the shows I am theoretically “current” on.

I still need to watch the last season of ST:LD, which I could probably do today, but I appear to be resistant. And then there are lots of other things I haven’t started or abandoned early, that I should get back […]

Probably one of the greatest moments in Trek lore, everyone I see it it brings tears to my eyes. You gotta understand the context but still it rugs at the heartstrings.

Also really hoping to see Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler again in live action #startrek #trek #st:snw #st:ld

ST:LD is breathing down DS9's neck to be my favorite Trek series. Separately, it's also the second best, so I align so far.

MANY FUCKS!
Tenho que assistir ST:LD.
Ainda mais depois do crossover com SNW.

Depends on the ship class. I want to say it was 2 on the D; ST:LD and STVI both show barracks, but when you move to Lt, you can get a shared suite for two in the former. Franz Joseph's guides from TOS shows all kinds of setups.

I mean they're not making any more ST:LD so, what will do I have to live fo---I mean, keep the service for??

I agree. The writing is thel problem, & if you don't have a good script, all the acting, directing, & high production values are moot. ST:LD & ST:SNW are the best of the bunch, but even the latter has only a smattering of good scripts, with the ST:LD the only one to have a true sense of itself.

The really perfect thing about this is having a vehicle for emulating the completely whackball episodes that all Treks have done. Adopting ST:LD just gives you an excuse to lampshade them in rpg play and approach those plots comedically w/o having to justify a tonal shift from space/science opera
Look what I found at the game store!!!

This is why I love Bluesky: Here are theoretical physicist @chanda.blacksky.app and Star Trek: Lower Decks creator @mikemcmahan.bsky.social casually chatting about ST:LD and the origin of Beckett Mariner's name...all because Mike McMahan accidentally arrived at dinner one hour early. 🖖
What’s the back story behind Mariner getting the middle name Mariner?

no, thank you! my friends finally convinced me to watch ST:LD last year, and I'm sorry I slept on it so long; great writing, great cast, not ready for it to be over now
