Per Cane et al. 2007 there are three snail-shell nesting mason bees in North America: Osmia conjuncta (eastern), Osmia subfasciata (AZ, TX, TN, KY), and Osmia botitena (TX). Distributions would likely broaden if people regularly collected shells into plastic bags and waited for bees to emerge.

Please do! And you might have Osmia subfasciata, too, because it's been found in Tennessee. We need to normalize the collecting of snail shells for bee surveys.
