Celebrating my wife finishing her race and avoiding the medical tent this year by being at our favourite tea house, which now has outdoor seating! :D
Enjoyed a nice calm lavender tea with so many tasty things while my wife drank the minty nettle. We watched the last runners finish the race too!

Afternoon tea, however, *is* a very specific thing though. It can be fancy (sandwiches, little cakes, small savouries, pots of tea etc) or just one slice of cake and a cup of tea.

I could eat a cornflake cluster-been looking at recipe leaflets & magazine cuttings 1960s-1980s. When I won a flower show cookery cup in Shere in 80s, I got 1st for mine, no-one else got a place, they were all made with melted chocolate; there were mutterings about childish recipes #1970sfood

her mom was Sharlayan, she lived in the Dravanian-Sharlayan colony for a good chunk of her early childhood. so she really didn't develop much in the way of, uh, _flavors_ until she was abandoned at Ishgard. her palette adapted to savouries well enough, but sweets were too much
