The workshop flyer reads: Using Evidence and Practical Applications to Overcome Misconceptions A Scopes Anniversary Workshop on Evolution for Teachers July 11, 2025 in Nashville Participants will: • Deepen their own understanding of biological classification, speciation, and conservation • Learn culturally responsive strategies for addressing students’ misconceptions • Identify key features of phenomenon-based storylines to support student-driven 3-dimensional learning • Learn about NCSE’s Story Short format, flexible mini-storylines that address one or two academic standards and can be completed in as little as five hours of classroom time • Leave with access to all of the free resources needed to implement an NCSE Story Short in the classroom Benefits for teacher participants include a $50 stipend, payment for substitutes, access to standards-aligned materials, the chance to adapt the resources to your local context and the needs of your students, and the opportunity to network with colleagues.
