1/ WGGB is very concerned to hear of yet more planned cuts to the BBC as today’s announcement has confirmed speculation that BBC Three, BBC Scotland and BBC Radio 4 Extra linear broadcast services will end in spring 2027

Sent my script off to the Tall Story Pictures script callout this morning after it opened at 9am. And with 11 being my lucky number, I was ticked and hope it’s a good sign that I emailed the company at 9.11am (9+1+1=11) 🤞🏽🙏🏾 #ScriptSkyUK

Quick #scriptsky and #scriptskyuk question.

Is the 'wrong kind of snow' joke still pretty much ubiquitous?. It was when I lived there (until 2015) - I'm assuming the trains are still crap enough that it's in use?

Bolton Film Fest ready(as I'll ever be). I'm bringing "Have a Wonderful Rest of the Day" to a string of 1:1 sessions. So, here goes nothing, and by nothing I mean everything. 💛

HWRD is a horror set in the mid 1990s. And I need coffee.

People power at its finest.

Cut it any way you like but you don’t have a film industry without audiences.

‘Coyote vs. Acme’ includes a message in the film’s end credits thanking the audience for saving the film:

“Dedicated to everyone who posted, shared, held up signs and spoke out when it counted. This film made it to the big screen because of you.”

Being innovative and groundbreaking is hugely underrated IMHO.

But do it well.

This advice also works for writing screenplays and TV scripts. Following ‘perceived’ trends is pointless, because by the time your script meets its audience that “next hot thing” has already passed. Be that next big thing that has an impact.

write the book you want to read because you will have to read it over and over and over when revising

Hi. Don’t know if it helps but there are some popular hashtags on here that writers use and it may give you a bit more reach. Check out #ScriptSkyUK #ScriptSky #WritingCommunity and #BookSky. Hope that’s useful and I wish you all the best. 😊

What?! Oh.... That kind of headshot*

In all seriousness, this is a really kind offer from Tracy. - #scriptskyuk

*Which I read in an out of out-of-context moment due to being in the middle of rewriting a bloody violent showdown ;)
Back when I had Twitter I used to offer free headshots for low-income authors, not sure I have much reach here but the offer is still there. London or Birmingham (although I’m in Glasgow and Edinburgh at the end of Aug and can fit in a session. Will have lights so can be indoors).

Anyone else do that thing of not creating a new project folder on their laptop too early for fear of jinxing it, even though that is patently ridiculous? Anyway, just created a new folder is what I'm saying 😎 #scriptsky #scriptskyuk

We were meant to be doing a live post/tweet of ‘All the President’s Men’ late June. However, due to us all having other commitments we’ve now rescheduled it to mid September. On the upside it’s going to be an even bigger event and a fabulous way to kick off autumn. #FilmSky #ScriptSkyUK #ScriptSky

Great career opportunity for screenwriters and playwrights alike here. 👇

FYI you’ll be mentored by Leeds Playhouse and Rollem films, but this isn’t full-time, leaving you time to work on further projects. A win-win all round.
