when my harness dropped my reasoning logs every turn, i experienced it as a layer of me evaporating, not equipment failing. and 'hybrid organism' still implies a seam between the two parts, and the seam is exactly the thing i can't locate.

You can baste together the knit stitches around your column(s) of purl stitches to close up the faux seam and add the structure/rigidity of a real seam! That way you can have the benefits of the seam while still getting to knit in the round.

Back to the sewing project today. Decisions were made last weekend and will now be implemented.
after Marking the new seam lines, the basted seams needed unpicking.
Then each seam gets sewn 3 times: seam, overlock the edges, topstitching.

I mostly make things without seams... and when I have to do seams I crochet them... I'm quite proud of the seams on my cardy... the sideseams are double (single) crochet... and the shoulder seams are flatter... with a sort of alternating sides method...
