Yes— Abdul has a coherent alternative vision to the foreign policy consensus in DC and it's based on liberal principles and that makes these people really mad because they can't pin him down on accusations of sectarianism or antisemitism.
Lot going on here, obviously, but the same people in Washington DC who demand ironclad support for Israel also insist on ironclad support for Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Monarchies, the Egyptian military dictatorship, etc, and the only people arguing in favor of changing that are people like AES.
Bari Weiss's resident hack Ross Douthat made a complete fool of himself on 60 Minutes, trying to claim the Saudi lobby has the same grip on Washington as AIPAC. Abdul El-Sayed immediately crushed him: 'AIPAC spent $33 million against me alone! Name another lobby doing that.' It has to make sense!🗳️🌊

This is a kind of sectarianism by proxy which is really weird; weirder than sectarianism itself already is. For all the anger and despising I have for USG policy I have always felt like viewing it through the vector of Jewish American / Arab American influence is insanely bad and frankly stupid.
There are plenty of Michigan Jews who will vote against El-Sayed for bad and racist reasons. But it's still weird that Haley Stevens, who is not Jewish, keeps appointing herself "voice of the Jews" without our consent. Particularly given that she ended the career of an actual Jewish Rep, Andy Levin.

Oh it means something alright.
For most people it will be forever linked to sectarianism, bitterness, self-serving.

About 25 years ago I had a phase of engaging with online creationists to understand alternative epistemic values etc... waste of time. All I learned is they don't really care, it's just ideology and sectarianism and nothing else.

they sell sectarianism, they don't even have the best part for their own products.

I don't even really interpret this as a centrist vs progressive thing and rather view it as sectarianism around one particular issue which also happens to be my number one issue. Same with Mamdani. If it was a strict centrist vs progressive thing you'd see it way more often.

Peak anti-Catholicism in the US was more mid-late 19th / early 20th C., from Know-Nothings running through to the second Klan. In other words, closer to us today than to 1776. The Founders would have looked upon popes and priests with disdain more b/c Enlightenment liberalism than for sectarianism.

First post, I just want to state that the main purpose of my account is to combat Christian Nationalism. The second is to combat christopretensism in general, and the third is to promote agapetheism, combat religious abstract legalistic sectarianism in favor of philotheosophy—love of divine wisdom.

There's a couple of reasons why - Labor is institutionally very scarred by sectarianism. She ticked boxes, they were getting pressure to do things, it mostly didn't matter. Here we are - and it's a good lesson for everyone not to be lazy fucks again on this culture war meets foreign influence racket

Huge thanks to Poetry London for inviting Adrian Rice and yours truly to talk poetry, sectarianism, identity, class -- and about Adrian's talented son Matt, whose new book of poems 'Plastic' is doing very well.

I think you mean agapetheism. Christianity has now become defined by misotic legalistic sectarianism.
Well Christian nationalism isnt technically bad, and no im not Relgious at all i think all religions, stem from a history of controlling nieve people, with a concept disprovable or provable, Christianity however is a religion of peace unlike others, i can go into that but yea upto you on that :)
