Brianna Wu is hanging with lauren southern. Maybe now is the time to re-evaluate how the left chooses celebrities.

I am once again asking people to stop shitting on self publishing. Self publishing is one of the best ways for marginalized people to get their stories told, and we work hard as fuck. Stop equating selfpub with low quality, low effort.

What's the difference between self-publishing and vanity publishing? With vanity publishing, an author often signs away their rights as well as paying over the odds for services provided. With self-publishing, authors source what services they need, whilst keeping control over their rights.

A great example of how no one can find actual uses for LLMs that aren't scams for grifts. Quite literally the LAST thing publishing needs is MORE manuscripts, especially low quality and unedited AI regurgitations. This isn't a problem being solved.

Why? Who is this meant to be good for? Nobody wants your shit AI books, never mind 8,000 in a year. Just a terrible idea and a horrible road the publishing industry is heading down.

I'd been pro-self-publishing. I was happy to see my 2 (now unpublished) wee short story collections sell on occasion. However, since I've seen only 9 sales of my speculative poetry collection since self-publishing it Aug '23, I now deem my self-publishing efforts to be a failure.
