It may be a bit early (seasonally), but I think it is long past time that we insist that fireworks (if we're going to continue using them) are made to be silent - they do not need to be noisy and the noise they make is a pollution that is bad for our natural world.

Let’s choose #SilentFireworks, compassion over chaos, and empathy over entertainment. Let this be a Mascot Doctrine Deepavali—where every bark, chirp, flutter, and heartbeat is protected.

🕯️ Light lamps, not trauma. 🎨 Paint rangolis, not fear. 🍬 Share sweets, not sonic stress.

How Fireworks Harm Humans & Other Animals Birds - Can be frightened to death Wildlife - May abandon dens or nests Sealife - Can die after ingesting firework debris Companion Animals - May try to escape the noise & run away from home Humans - PTSD can be triggered Fireworks explode like magnified gunfire in the exquisitely sensitive ears of all creatures Bees become so disoriented they don't go back to their hives Birds have panic attacks at night, causing mass deaths Wild animals raising babies abandon their dens in fear Fish & other animals perish after ingesting firework debris Humans have PTSD #SilentFireworks Fireworks Safety for pets Keep your pets inside your home Give them a safe place to hide Drown/mask out the noise Update their IDs and microchips just in case they run outside Keep them busy If needed, speak to your veterinarian for medication options Dos and don'ts for pet owners during firework season Do: > Keep pets safe indoors > Provide hiding places for pets > Provide toys and other things that they would enjoy > Keep doors and windows closed so pets do not run away > Close windows and curtains to muffle the sound of fireworks and avoid bright flashes > Put on some music or TV to mask the firework sounds > Microchip your pets in case they escape outside > Soundproof and light proof cages with blankets but leave an area for pets to look out > Provide bedding or a comfortable nest for small animals to burrow in > Walk dogs before the sun goes down Don't: > Set off fireworks near animals > Play with fireworks in a residential area > Leave pets alone Source: Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) United Kingdom

#PTSD is real ... fireworks can trigger soldiers ... but if you don't care about them ... how about birds, wild life, bees, pets, & fish ... if you're still not worried ... there's something wrong with you ... my opinion, just saying ...
