I respect the skepticism

yeaaaaah

“Haley Stevens is a traitor” is the message coming from both Dem voters and Dem politicians and even people who shared her skepticism of El-Sayed don’t want to get on that particular train
Wow — a protester yells “Haley Stevens is a traitor!” and Stevens then wraps up her news conference with Mike Rogers in a hurry

Douthat should stick to his knitting: being a fussy Catholic with lingering skepticism about Vatican II and overt skepticism about the post-Benedict papacies.

This is some extremely naive reporting. Not a drop of skepticism
November 3, 2026 at 5:52 PM
Wild to watch Douthat and others in the media skeptically ask @abdulelsayed.bsky.social why he thinks government should have some control over the future of A.I. companies — but they never seem to use the same skepticism about the government subsidizing them with taxpayer money.🤨

Skepticism tonight from the Lynnwood City Council on the idea of expanding automatic camera enforcement as it's being proposed, expressing interest in trying to explore physical traffic calming infrastructure instead before implementing cameras.
Lynnwood is set to join the list of cities that have converted time-limited school zone speed cameras to 24/7 operations, following similar moves in Edmonds and Federal Way.

Israel has shared intelligence with the United States asserting that Iran is considering the use of chemical weapons against its adversaries, information met with alarm by some American officials and deep skepticism by others, according to U.S. and regional officials.-NYT

We should view claims by the police with healthy skepticism, and that skepticism should rise with the political salience of the issue.

I'm not even sure journalists can be this naive. Surely they know the police are political actors, so treating them as NOT is an anti-"objective coverage" choice.

The cross tabs showed he could do especially well with lion, camel, & rhinoceros, but he faces a lot of skepticism from Person, woman, man, camera, & TV.
Trump: "I'd love to run again ... I would love to run. They had a poll the other day where I beat everybody by so much. I'd love to run ... we have the greatest economy in history"

it also sounds like she uh actually made concessions too, and the fact that she apparently approached this nonsense in good faith makes me reevaluate my own skepticism of endorsing her tbh!

A thread about another reason people are justified in skepticism about AI.

This is the thinking behind vaccine skepticism too.

It is very likely that this authorized delivery will never arrive or the very least extremely late. Since Trump’s word is provenly worth nothing (Epstein, war in Iran etc.) we have to consider anything coming from this US administration with extreme skepticism, as usual.

I sometimes look (with great skepticism) to betting markets for faint signals, but I try to always think of them as Conventional Wisdom Or Insider Trading markets
Betting markets are not polls (and are structurally evil) but the fact that they have nudged in El-Sayed'a favor over the course of the last few days seems perhaps an indication that all this Haley Stevens stuff is a tempest in a teapot

That is suspiciously convenient for this Admin. I hope he fully recovers & an investigation is done to determine if poisoning was a factor. Russians are famous for such tactics. There are genuine grounds for skepticism.

U.S. research cuts and vaccine skepticism have delivered Europe an opportunity to establish itself as a leader in science — especially developing in immunizations.

this is absolutely not true. "there is no skepticism of AI" is just a completely nonsense thesis.

a thing i learned when i was making the honeybots is that flattering people by telling them their enemies are stupid is a great shortcut for reach on social media, people usually just don't apply skepticism to those claims
