The problem is developed societies are rich but they're not so rich that no one will be poor. It's always a tough balance of who gets what when. But British pensioners tend to live on a very very very small amount of money.
The triple lock had to go. I don't take pleasure in it. I like old people and British pensioners are for the most part quite poor. It's just the math.

This is just wrong. Societies did in fact collapse. Trade with other nations were lost for hundreds of years. Science was lost, having to be rediscovered generations later. Untold works of art and literature are just gone. This is a myopic take.
