The UK needs #SolarOnEveryRoof - as a minimum

The government must go all in on renewables.
Put #SolarOnEveryRoof.
Caroline Lucas explains why more drilling in the North Sea wouldn't bring our energy prices down & it would take years to come on line, but what will bring prices down is more renewables & energy efficiency, its quicker to achieve and it doesn't drive climate change #GMB

Much wailing & gnashing of teeth & oh it was Russia & now it's Iran.

➡️ Zero action on energy company profiteering.
➡️ No real effort to create a fully nationalised renewable energy & storage network that will provide both reasonable price AND national security.

Time to invest in energy security.
Time to invest in the people.

Instead of promising to let America use UK airforce bases, Starmer should be promising to install solar panels on every roof to combat the cost of oil price increases.

💯
And a scheme to put #SolarOnEveryRoof (and a battery in every home)
May 27, 2026 at 7:36 AM
If Starmer was genuinely concerned about the cost of living, he could start with energy bills.

The government could invest in solar for all - this would also bring much greater national energy security.

Everything we need to do to stop climate breakdown, we also need to do for national security. Energy saving, more renewables, more electricity storage and interconnectors, electrification of transport, heating, cooking and industrial processes, plant-based diets. We win on all fronts.
March 22, 2026 at 7:32 AM
This is such an obvious step for energy security - the UK needs to follow suit and rapidly remove dependence on oil & gas.
Put #SolarOnEveryRoof!

'We haven't seen anything yet': China's plan to kick foreign oil habit

The solution is and always has been to remove the country's dependence on fossil fuels by developing renewables.

Perhaps he should properly #renationalise energy and put #SolarOnEveryRoof
April 9, 2026 at 7:53 PM
Burnham is going on (a joke of) a 'listening tour'.

Well, how about:
- Put #SolarOnEveryRoof
- End energy profiteering
- Prosecute corrupt water company execs
- #Renationalise key public services
- Ban 2nd jobs for MPs
- Get #Leveson2 going
- Introduce #ElectoralReform and #PRNow

Brilliant 🙄

What we need is a full-on non-stop committment to putting #SolarOnEveryRoof and getting Britain off its dependency on oil & gas.

This should be considered a matter of national security.
September 20, 2026 at 11:14 AM
WTF? A listening tour??

Put #SolarOnEveryRoof!
End energy profiteering!
Prosecute corrupt water company execs!
#Renationalise key public services!
Ban 2nd jobs for MPs!
Get #Leveson2 going!
Introduce #ElectoralReform and #PRNow!

We're all screaming it at you Burnham, but you don't want to hear!!!

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced he's going on a "listening tour" of the UK.

What message do you think he needs to hear?
Westminster Won’t Listen — Scottish National Party
The SNP is calling for Andy Burnham to deliver on Labour’s broken energy promises.

Dear Andy Burnham,
How can I put this politely?
Cutting VAT on energy bills is bollocks.

If you genuinely want to help people reduce their energy bills, let's see the government:
- insulate homes
- install solar
- invest in storage solutions
- and #renationalise energy!

Here's an idea for Starmer's Labour:
Put #SolarOnEveryRoof

Increase energy security.
Break the monopoly of fossil fuel giants.
Actually lower people's bills.
April 4, 2026 at 9:56 AM
So let's get investing in renewable energy - like immediately!

Inflation could rise to 6.2% next year, with interest rates peaking at 5.25%, in the event of a prolonged energy shock with oil prices remaining above $130 a barrel, according to a worst-case scenario modelled by the Bank of England

I don’t necessarily have a problem with this, if it brings down the overall cost of domestic electricity. However we need that reduction today, not in 20 years time.
Renewables, however, are cheaper, faster and more environmentally friendly to deploy.
