To take just one example here: Texas ranchers have been solarizing, thanks to the state's bizarre "free market" energy system that sees energy prices spiking so high during cold snaps that you literally have to choose between freezing to death and going bankrupt.

China has also been solarizing their economy FAST - they are REDUCING DEMAND, and by “helping” places like Pakistan also solarize, they’re building good will - the same good will we are SQUANDERING by the incompetent idjits in charge

Converting one of my side yards to native #Wildflowers (currently solarizing the soil to get rid of grass and weeds) and just ordered the seeds to plant in mid-October. Helmet skullcap, tickseed, greeneyes, sand squares, butterfly milkweed, and dotted horsemint, here I come! 🌸🌿🐝🦋

I did some work to solarize a patch of reed canary grass. This non-native grass can take over wetlands to the point that little else will grow. Solarizing it with old greenhouse plastic will reduce it but probably not eliminate it. I will follow up with thick mulch in the fall. 🌱

Some people really like the “solarization” of clear glass to a light purple (I’m currently solarizing one of my old bottles cuz I like it!), but other purist collectors see this as damaged glass and will pay nowhere near collectors prices for it.
