Did you know processing archival materials requires archivists to remove rubber bands, metal paper clips, and staples? These rust and disintegrate, causing damage to documents. Plastic paperclips are preferred.

Did you know TTU had an observatory near the TTU Museum? It was built in the early 1980s and housed IGOR No. 5. The telescope is now prominently placed just north of our archive, in front of TTU's new Academic Sciences Building.

In 2006, Kinky Friedman, a singer-songwriter and columnist for Texas Monthly, ran for governor as one of two independent candidates in the 2006 Texas gubernatorial election. These posters are from his 2006 campaign for governor.

These publications were released in 1963 and 1969 as The Space Race was in full effect. Both examples show theorized moon colonization and "many scientific facets of historic space efforts." The full issues can be found in our SPACE reference file.
