I had no idea of the scale of interference and management cowardice behind the scenes at SciAm. Ex-owners SpringerNature come out looking v bad. But worse is the White House trying to crush any scrutiny, even in specialist magazines.

I am not going to decline anymore, and certainly not review for them. I find it insulting that they expect their free work to be treated as high priority for a rapid turnaround, in a race to the bottom.
