Tbh, I don’t think it’s a matter of bankrolling further signings. It’s more about the wage bill. Chiesa & Endo take up a good player’s wage. But, it’s not healthy to have two £250kpw + players as squaddies. One of their wage is a tasty morsel for another, better fitting option somewhere.

I mean yes it actually kind of is a dilemma for that medic historically which is why it often doesn't happen, we have entire narrative tropes about it. Especially if the dude being treated just shot your squaddies.

Going through checkpoints of twitchy squaddies with chips on their shoulders, in a southern-registered car with a lot of large-bore metal tubes en route to sailing events was always an interesting experience, put it that way, but not what you'd describe as glamorous or one you'd want to go back to.

Someone's put up a massive remembrance display on the bus route into Carmarthen - silhouettes of squaddies & planes, massive poppies, across the verge. I must try to get some pictures.
Obviously means a lot to them, but I'm _sure_ they'll be the first to sign up for this...

This "cut welfare to fund squaddies" thing is an example. Why is the military so depleted? Osborne/Clegg austerity and Hammond cuts. Hammond was vicious. You don't hear any journo ask the Tories and LDs why they left the country undefended.

To be fair he’s a 5-time Premier League winner, and CL winner (amongst other things) playing a big part in those successes. Not like some of the squaddies who played a handful of games and picked up medals.
Underrated for me, a good footballer who should have got more caps than he did.

Yeah I don’t do Saturday nights usually. Squaddies remind me of my time in Germany. I bet they’re still not well behaved.

Thanks , I do go out but not normally Saturday nights there as too many squaddies. COmpletely forgot we visit a Greek place fairly regularly but that's always on a Sunday evening when town is quieter

RIP to the squaddies who DefSec Mr Piggywiggy will be air dropping into Cuba. They didn't put parachutes on the Ajax's, but TBF what was left of the crew didn't look that different to what is normally left behind after a 3 hr drive.

They used to have it on Armistice Day, but they got so over the top, with field guns, squaddies repelling from the roof, and a few sad bastards in uniform dancing on the pitch, that the GOC Scotland told them to fuck off with that shite.

2. Years ago, I helped run game fairs. Run by farmers, often hosting squaddies, and always a bit of a challenge mentality. The squaddies wiped the floor at small bore shooting. The farmers cleaned up with shotguns. I would have felt v inadequate...only it turns out I'm William Tell

Ok, so there's a genuine irony here in that most histories of Currywurst agree that it's an Anglo-Indian German fusion food that came about partly because British squaddies couldn't live without their spices

The story that's often told is that curry powder was introduced to Germany by squaddies; the Germans then ran with it. That'd make it an Anglo-Indian German hybrid and also explain why NRW, Hamburg and Berlin all claim to be the originators (all areas with British influence)
