Fernanda Araujo Maciel grew up in Brazil, where quality statistics education in Portuguese was hard to find. She started a YouTube channel to close that gap. It's grown into a community spanning Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique, and beyond. #StatsSky #StatisticsEducation #StatsEd magazine.amstat.org/...

A #stats #StatsEd question for all of you out there. Are there any good textbooks that focus on statistics literacy?

That is, the primary focus is reading and interpreting analyses (rather than doing analyses, with hand calculations or software).

Open access best, but interested in any!

I have collated 11 open access datasets that I have produced on my webpage for broader sharing.

Mostly self-report surveys, but is a pretty eclectic mix on the whole. Hopefully some of you find them useful for teaching or secondary analysis!

Inspired by effect size discussions here, I wrote a blog post analyzing within-subject data that has both a large and small effect size, depending on the stat used.

Includes: Unstandardized, d_z, d_av rank-biserial correlation, and multilevel R2

Any of you out there dealing with a real decrease in student exam performance in the newest cohort?

Should we just temporarily lower standards at university until the pandemic bump clears?

It's a real ethical challenge for me
