I had the pleasure of writing an article for @ca.theconversation.com about some of the cool science Roman will do -- including studying the rotation of tiny stars (aka ultracool dwarfs)! Check it out here:

This is the Sun's surface, the photosphere, seen as we've NEVER seen it before. 🔭

The Hawaiian Islands give you a scale.

Those thin filaments?

They're magnetic boundaries shaped by the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability (KHI) previously ONLY theorized, and FINALLY observed.⚛️🧪

The local Milky Way unveiled by a new census of OB-type stars! 🔭

We have identified a population of ~100,000 O- and B-type stars within 2 kpc. We trace Galactic structure (including the Sagittarius-Carina arm) as well as OB associations and massive star-forming regions!

The largest catalogue of runaway B-type stars ever released within 1 kpc! 🔭

In this study led by Juan Martínez García, from an all-sky sample of ~25,000 O- and B-type stars within 1 kpc, we found ~7% and ~17% of B-type and O-type stars being runaways, respectively.
