#Sternorrhyncha
Several people on the Sternorrhyncha Facebook Group had reported seeing the Asian Balsam Aphid, Impatientinum asiaticum, this autumn, so I have been keeping a look out for it, and managed to find some today along the river at Trowse. #NorwichAphids

Presume this to be a young female Parthenolecanium corni. Does anyone here know their Scale Insects, and are able to advise?

I once visited Mayan ruins in Mexico and was told that is not known how they were able to make such bright blue colors. Also heard the same about bright red ones. It turns out, at least for the red color, a fungus is responsible! Read more here: www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Anyone know what this might be? Egg case? Seed? Some sort of weird Sternorrhyncha? I keep seeing them in my sifted litter, sometimes with a hole in it. Leaf litter collected in Southern VA in September.
