I can tell you the r/stopdrinking subreddit has been interesting…
Not surprisingly, the current reality isn’t great for those of us who used to drink to deal with stress… but the sub exists for anyone who wants to be sober.

While AA wasn't for me, I absolutely deplore religion & religiosity, I would not knock it as a path many have successfully taken. It works. This is SUPER scary.

whelp, tptb have decided that r/stopdrinking is not appropriate for anyone under 18 or who refuses to provide their ID to a dubious third party verification service. Thank goodness no one under 18 ever has an alcohol problem, or lives with anyone who does and needs coping mechanisms!

Meanwhile, Reddit had to block r/stopdrinking and similar subs for users who hadn't verified their ages, because it risked running foul of the Online Safety Act. Bad enough for adults, but are there not some kids who will find that sub useful? I started binge drinking on the regular when I was 15. 🫤

I was reading a post in r/stopdrinking, pretty standard stuff about beginning sobriety. Then at the end they used the word cockwomble and I immediately lost any sympathy.

Reddit does have its good points r/louisville has incredible gossip r/zepbound is very encouraging r/jasonisbell makes me feel like a casual fan and r/stopdrinking is a great place to go if you’re feeling like maybe you can try moderation

There’s nothing like going back to r/stopdrinking to encourage people to keep at it just as they encouraged me. I haven’t had a drink since July 14, 2019, and r/stopdrinking is a big, important part of the reason why. If you think you might have a problem with alcohol, check it out.

well r/stopdrinking has a lot to say about this, unsurprisingly. he has the right to tell what he thinks is his truth but this is absolutely going to blow some people’s sobriety even though he admits he’s already struggled to moderate
1st week of January done and I haven’t had a drop of alcohol. I know it’s not much, but this is the longest I’ve gone for over a year without drinking
