Dingwall Town Hall, where The Beatles played to a crowd of 19. A few miles away a 1000 strong crowd danced to The Chessmen and local band The Melotones at Strathpeffer Pavillion. A few weeks later Please Please Me was released and Beatlemaia was born!

Or the gig in Dingwall on 4 jan where only 18 people turned up. Everyone else went to Strathpeffer to see the Melotones, and rumour has it the Beatles gave up and went along too.

We were in Strathpeffer two years ago at this time. Charming little place. Castle Leod was in the plan but the Mackenzie Chief doesn’t do the private tours anymore. Not even for a Mackenzie. Local historian is the designated guide now. 😏

It's quite tricky!
The notes carry on ringing unless you
"damp" them, so you need to replace your finger on the strings that you don't want to be part of the chords heard.

it's not necessarily that ill never get to taste it again, but there's an american diner themed cafe in strathpeffer that i rmmber fondly... i think it's still open but strathpeffer is so rural. my dad used to take me there for antiques fairs and the likes... we would sell my dog's fur to spinsters

Yeah, Tain Open Saturday (79), Golspie Open yesterday (77) Brora two years ago and Strathpeffer a few years back. Dornoch I’ve played a few times but it’s so bloody expensive now unless you can get into an Open.
