a lot of people in the comments here are making the point that people said this in 2006 under george w bush, but texas was still a fortified republican stronghold in 2006, republicans up and down the line (including abbott, lol). that's what makes this time different.
this is not a prediction, and even if i'm right, it's going to lumber along like a zombie for awhile, i think MAGA may actually be walking dead now. i didn't think that in 2020 when trump lost, but i think it might be now.
