it ends with "New Glenn has only launched three orbital missions" OK well Starship has only launched one (and 13 suborbital tries)?? NG has delivered vehicles to transfer to Mars, and a customer to LEO. Starship seems uninterested in "customers" they only want to launch starlinks/starminds

This is the Mk-II Aurora, a rocket-powered suborbital spaceplane from Dawn Aerospace. Instead of launching vertically, it takes off from a runway and climbs almost straight toward the edge of space.

For the most part, I agree. Some legit research and tech demos could benefit from a suborbital platform, but I'm not sure a widespread space tourist market exists yet.

They may have wanted to wait a few more days before doing this, given that October 31 and a somber anniversary for the company is coming up. Indeed, the suborbital research programs can continue, and with New Shepard in the hangar, that IS good news, but ...

The space mission that I have been asked to join is called ECM1 (First European Commercial Mission). It will be a suborbital mission with Virgin Galactic that could take place as early as next year 😊.

I was just saying that New Shepard isn't flying right now. So VG would be the only human suborbital game in town right now.

Turns out I was kinda right with not expecting it to work, bc if I try anything bigger than a small suborbital hop along the equator, the front landing gear and stabilizers explode during reentry :p
Also this means it can't do the #1 cool spaceplane thing of landing on a runway from orbit
I really wasn't expecting it to work, but I made a proftable spaceplane in ksp career mode :3
And now that I'll use it more than once I think it deserves a nice name like "Milky Mk1 Spaceplane" (bc my agency is called Expie Aerospace) rather than its current amazing name of "SP1 prototype 4 stack"
