I've found recently the only IG personalities I can stand are people who obviously and fundamentally hate that they have to be on it. There is some cool art and stuff you can find and see and some good teachers and thinkers but the obvious superficiality of the endeavor kneecaps everything you find.

It’s body horror. Was it about bodies? Did it feel horrific? Admittedly it’s quite a long drawn out metaphor about women, youth and superficiality. Under The Skin was way better.

The post does not suggest it's the norm. It suggests it's okay no matter how one looks. It suggests identity matters more than superficiality. You're bothered about a problem you invented in your head by ignoring all the context of their post. But context counts. Intent matters.

I think precisely because things feel meaningless to me, and there's this veil of superficiality to so many things. that is, I lack whatever it is that makes certain things feel serious to other people, bc I sort of feel like I'm on a cloud, just overlooking.

Could even interpret that he believe his love for his mother is what led to her death, and so he's been spending his whole life making sure he never loved another woman, always hiding behind a barrier of trans actionality, superficiality and professionalism so they wouldn't get close to him.

Its genius is in perfectly capturing the innocent superficiality of all children's perceptions as they hear it as optimistic, and the profound melancholy of all adults perceiving EXACTLY THE SAME WORDS as deeply sad.
