#SysRev
So incredibly grateful to the people who put this guide together (I know who you are, I recognize your voice!) for me in my moment of need for knowledge about the tool SysRev.

New paper 📣
A systematic review that I did the searches for has been published. I'm really pleased with this one. It turned into an unexpected monster. #sysrev #medlibs

I would like to think about ways to counteract this. How to convince #SysRev teams that an extra two weeks (I'd say, after #peerreview and #revisions) are worth the wait?

I'm aiming to try to keep this to work-related stuff only (let's see how long that lasts). So search-geeks, #sysrev nerds, and public health #infospecialists, hello.

Hi everyone, just moved apps and hoping to recapture some of the magic of old Twitter. I'm an academic into #nutrition, evidence synthesis (particularly #sysrev), dietary assessment, food labelling. Keen on any suggestions of who to follow.
Can promise occasional dog photos in return 🐕

Reviewer 1 was playing the part of Reviewer 2 today. 10 changes to address in our #SysRev. 2 was “why didn’t you search PubMed, too?” Dear reviewer, please watch: "Searched PubMed and MEDLINE" | Systematic Review Common Mistakes | Methods Monday youtu.be/5lxlO7vCqyY 💕 @carrieprice.bsky.social

Had a natural experiment fall in my lap last week. Faculty did a sysrev search in OpenEvidence. Her mentor, a frequent collaborator, said “you need to talk to the librarians,” so now I can go head to head with the machine.

Hope I don’t end up like John Henry.

Just found a sysrev with a nice table showing the number of results for the search per database... where some results are literally noted as "Syntax Error"... AND IT GOT PUBLISHED? Is it not common knowledge to fix a syntax error and search again? #medlibs

Love note from an Evidence Synthesis librarian to authors:

If you are going to use a new term (i.e. one that none of your references use), can you please include the previous term elsewhere in your abstract so we can find your paper. Please, & thanks!

Sad to see they clearly did not consult a #medlib for this study. Most telling is the sentence "Taken collectively [...] suggests that Google Scholar cannot be used as a sole resource for systematic reviews [...]." Ah, so you mean like any sysrev guideline already tells you?

Just saw a review spell #CINAHL as "CIANHL".

So, I thought to myself - that must be a rare occurrence - but it is not. A Google Scholar search returned more than 80 results, and the ones I scanned looked like misspellings of CINAHL based on the sentences they were in. #SysRev

I have no works to share, just a thought/question:

How would the human doing the review know that the AI's 'critical appraisal' was good?

I do lots of #SysRev / #MetaAnalysis. The hardest part, requiring most expertise & independent thought, is the critical appraisal.

How *could* AI deliver that?
