I wonder if they use t568a or t568b. Maybe both?? Not that it matters. There are a few differences about the color of the wires and their order, but I have a visual guide of the colors in my tech folder on my phone of other visual guides. I have no problem untwisting wires and crimping them.

Here we have the next step in our stupid project. The need to make some nice new Category 5 Network Cables.
Why Cat 5, rather than Cat 6 or 7? Seriously? Like these Servers can push data over a network faster than 1Gbit. :)
Always remember consistency in standards. We'll adhere to T568B pinout.

Man, I remember those wire-pull days… wall snakes, cutout templates, nail-finders, 8P8C plug crimpers and punch blocks. Yikes.
And it still didn’t work because you accidentally swapped 7 & 8 on the T568B pinout spec.
I don’t miss any of it. :)

Apparently there are 2 different wiring schemes. The one you described is T568A, but I had to use T568B because the other end of the cable had already been terminated that way.

One thing I've never understood. Why cable testers report "36145278" when T568A is miswired to T568B on the other end.
Wouldn't it just be the orange and green pairs screwed up?
