The stream is over and I can finally post this!
I tried to replicate the TSR art style for this, since we were going to discuss TSR stuff!
The stream was really fun! Thank you so much to those who were there!!

Spotted in this week's uploads #3

At times this has been the cheapest way to buy a TSR.2 in 1:72 scale. The Stratos4 (anime) parts are on a separate sprue.

This kit is in 1:72 scale, from Airfix.

When 620K free felt practically unlimited memory. For your latest game find, half the battle was winning the war against drivers, TSR and CONFIG.SYS. The other half was actually playing the game.
Modern software is more like: "need 2 GB just to open it."

Lots of old minis to give away: TSR minis, licensed AD&D minis, other fantasy minis (lots of Ral Partha), Arduin, Glorantha, Call of Cthulhu, science fiction, and even Native Americans. Some are originally mine, most are from the old TSR game library. 1/2

Day 2 - Moon.
A tragic, crazy night, full of hysteria.
What a bloody moon to show tonight.
I put 2 references of TSR there, they're easy to find... maybe, lemme know if you do!

2/2... position creatively and in terms of development it's been since TSR in the 1990s.

I have no doubt the staff they have are skilled, but with these high level departures of known figures, the staff left behind are in a weaker position to fight corporate on anything.

In the 1990s, the two *major* trends at the TTRPG publishers were (1) TCGs and (2) player-facing supplements.

What we got from TSR was a brilliant array of settings: Forgotten Realms, Planescape, Dragonlance, Spelljammer, Dark Sun.

As the supplement model recedes into history, we see the impact.
This is one of my long-time personal bugbears as a player with 20+ years and >6 editions under my belt, too.

5e players haven’t really experienced distinct worlds, and I think it means they’ve missed out on something special because if it.

seeing D&D people complain they don't want artificer cat people in their medieval fantasy and a) wow the kids are growing into their own grognard era, *sniff* and b) this is what we used to have different published campaign settings for and what they could be for again

Okay, where were we? Oh yes! 1977 on our D&D release tour. If you count them all up, TSR released over 30 different sets of character sheets over their existence. Today I am going to show you the first ones, very rare, with only 2-3 known copies to exist. Here is one of them. Note the F 1009 lower R
