This is the failure point for me. Tamiya lacquer looks good until I squeeze them on the rims and it starts to flake off.
I may have to paint the tires after they go on the rims.

I now always seek out resin replacement wheels when a kit has vinyl tyres. I’ve used Tamiya acrylic paints on vinyl tyres in the past and they work OK but ‘long term’ I don’t know. Vinyl tyres also have a reputation for degrading over time and splitting…but I haven’t seen this personally yet….

I've used Tamiya XF in the past but I placed the tyre on the wheel before painting. It seemed to be tough enough. 👍

この新製品、牽引トラクター ＆ 周辺 set だと勘違いしていて F-14B 自体の撮影が漏れています。「同社で周辺だけの KIT なんて珍しいな」と思っていたけど、やはり本体と混成仕様で。
『B』だからボマー▷爆撃仕様なんでしょうね。

Imagine a world where Kei/LSV regulations evolve. A Topolino crossbred with a Super One, in kit form, like a giant Tamiya. A snail, crawling along the edge of a Polaris RZR. This is my dream. Make it so.
The Honda Super One is genuinely one of the most entertaining cars I’ve driven all year. I will miss it so much!

Came up with this colour and hopefully it comes out at a semi gloss. Shifted it green as that seems to be more prototypical and a blue shift would go purple once I add all the red Australian dust.

Airbrush power washed with a bit of wet sanding.
Next up we get crazy with some Tamiya clear blue over chipping fluid to make the green parts more bluish and glossy.

It’s quite a nice way to make these pretty ancient Tamiya kits sing a little more brightly but yeah it does take an age to do…although I think this one has one big lump of resin that fills the rear of the truck…I haven’t even looked yet…🤷♂️
