ECMAScript excitement 😉

Congrats to @peet.bsky.social from TechAtBloomberg advancing JSON.parse Options to Stage 2.7 at @TC39 today 🎉

There are two independent opt-ins.

🔶 deep freezing the entire object
🔶 non-array objects get a null prototype

Names may change ⚠️

Congrats to my coworker @ashley-c.bsky.social at TechAtBloomberg on advancing Await Dictionary to Stage 3 at TC39 🎉

Promise.all returns positional results as an array. Promise.allKeyed allows named results inside an object 👍

ECMAScript excitement 😉

Congrats to @ashley-c.bsky.social from TechAtBloomberg on advancing the Composites proposal to Stage 2 at @tc39.es today 🎉

Composites are objects that are compared by value instead of identity. They are an evolution of Record & Tuple proposal.

This week's @viteconf.org was a LOT of fun.

It rekindled some of the neutrality/plurality magic from the old JSConfEUs. Like Switzerland. Bridging communities & frameworks. Folk cheering each other on, celebrating collaboration 🎉

TechAtBloomberg folk showed up in force - 7 of us!

I'm grateful that TechAtBloomberg folk get to meet in-person whilst living around the globe. Travel is a privilege.

We just wrapped up a week in London that brought together our JS Infra & Performance/Observability teams who power the Terminal.

Day 1 was at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich.

By many metrics the new Temporal date-time API is the single biggest change to JS ever 🔥

Like Kiesel, V8 chose to reuse Boa's open source Rust-based temporal_rs by @jason-williams.co.uk from TechAtBloomberg, Kevin Ness & Manish 👍

An article by @littledan.dev from TechAtBloomberg on the latest advances that make JavaScript & Wasm play nicely together 🤝

Key takeaway: Build steps for Wasm and JS glue code are not going away - and that's OK 👍
