And no surprise that when you’re mudlarking a short distance from Sloane Square the occasional solid silver Chanel brooch pops up via the river #MadeInChelsea #Mudlark #ThamesForeshore

Haven’t seen many of these lads in my garden at all this year

Hot weather style goalz. Ten out of ten for nonchalant lounging in a Grecian toga & styling it out with a dinky bracelet #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

Thames found marbles - made from stone, clay & glass. Top right hand corner is a tartan-looking ‘Striped China’, part of a Victorian carpet boules set #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

From a recent mudlarking trip to the Thames Foreshore, a lovely piece of worked bone with a hole drilled in the centre. My guess is 18th/19th century because of the location, but I have no idea what it might have been used for, perhaps a gaming piece? Ideas welcome 1/ #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

The sun is *finally* making an appearance after a week of anticyclonic gloom. Hurrah! Meanwhile up on the embankment restaurant staff are putting up Christmas decorations while I wait for the tide to go out #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

Proper bucket list find for me from the #ThamesForeshore yesterday. The exciting glint of gold revealing my first complete (though ever so slightly squished) thimble. Not real gold, obvs, but copper alloy, the colour beautifully preserved in anaerobic (oxygen free) river mud 1/

Thames treasure. Buttons, pins, pin-ties, agate, aglet & a tiny white fossilised crinoid ossicle that I originally thought was a bead. Also, a pouty lip-shaped oyster shell to display my beauties #mudlark #ThamesForeshore

George III silver sixpence & a furriers’ hook. Both found close together on the #ThamesForeshore for the simple reason that the river groups finds together by weight, and metal attracts metal, so you never know when that unprepossessing pile of rusting ships’ nails will yield something nice #mudlark

We’re nearly at the end of June so here are some of my best #mudlarking finds from the #ThamesForeshore this month.

From the top, left to right:

• fluted-design clay pipe, 19thC
• Victorian-era apothecary bottle from ‘WHITE & Co, BISHOP’S RD, W (Paddington)
• 19thC Halfpenny stoneware inkwell -
