Early-Onset OCD With Tic Disorders May Increase Risk for Neurodevelopmental Disorders
OCD combined with chronic tic disorders is linked to increased rates of autism and learning delays in youth.

It's an interesting tic of personality disorders that they will gravitate towards things that are banal and most people agree on as a self-soothing distraction. If you're talking about the clocks (yes we all know it sucks) then you're agreeing with him and not talking about how much to got routed.

Scientists identify rare mutations in 36 genes that sharply raise the odds of OCD and tic disorders
A genetic study of nearly 4,000 people with OCD or tic disorders identified 36 genes in which rare damaging mutations sharply raise the odds of these conditions. Most of the genes appear to be shared between the two disorders.

Does autism change tics? In a study of 535 people, it was linked to more complex tics, not more severe ones. Phrase tics: 12.2% vs 3.5%. Repeating their own words: 20.4% vs 8.3%. Do your tics look different from what people expect?

Rare mutations in 36 genes boost risk of OCD and tic disorders
A large-scale genetic analysis has identified 36 genes carrying rare mutations that sharply raise the odds of developing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) or chronic tic disorders (CTDs), or both, offering new clues about the biology behind these overlapping conditions. The work, published in Nature Neuroscience, centres on two researchers from the United States – Belinda Wang of the University of California, San Francisco, and Gary A.

"In some instances, repetitive self-tapping or slapping can be a "tic" or a repetitive behavioral mechanism seen in moderate-to-advanced cognitive disorders like Alzheimer's. It may serve as a form of self-soothing, a way to cope with spatial confusion, or a habitual motor compulsion while moving."

I knew tic disorders and OCD were highly comorbid but it did not once occur to me that this could happen to me. Honestly there was no way I could have guessed that I am not immune to the disorders I've already been diagnosed with.

PANDAS. Risultati molto controversi.
