annoyingly, HAProxy doesn't like mixing TLS termination vs passthrough, and i haven't figured out how to get the gateway's own web UIs (yes, plural, it's dumb) to discover my TLS certs so that they can do their own termination and have haproxy _only_ do SNI-based routing

i have a separate HomeAssistant node in the LAN which is capable of acquiring its own TLS certs, so obviously the correct thing to do here is to make HomeAssistant only serve HTTPS and make everybody, including my gateway, talk to it over TLS, and teach my gateway to resolve *.aurbis.myrrlyn.net,

It's wild to be able to gauge how people are using social media during a dystopian nightmare through shop sales. When the news is bad, I don't see as many new customers because people are avoiding TLs.
But once things get better and it's not a bad news brigade, new customers see us and pop up.
