The cameras are a reference to the automatic cameras that charge drivers the Manhattan congestion charge. Similar cameras are used on highway tollbooths. bsky.app/profile/jose...

The less discussed thing that massively sucks about AI, and also probably dooms it, is every idea ultimately involves routing another data highway through one of the same three tollbooths

If you go through tollbooths the opposite way they actually pay you instead. Follow me for more life hacks.

They know it was a dinosaur freeway because they didn't find any high concentration of dinosaur tracks around potential dinosaur tollbooths

A high-traffic “dinosaur freeway” may have once stretched across a shoreline in what is now Bolivia. https://cnn.it/4oAmPZu

"They make their money by setting up tollbooths ... it's not about producing goods, the more the state is deconstructed, that's why they want to demolish the department of education, everything we need for a civil society becomes privatized" - Chris Hedges

I think we should let phantoms be more than opera weirdos and tollbooths
Billy Zane had the right idea

Appears Venezuela is preparing for the likely upcoming strikes by strengthening positions for regime preservation:

Reports from Venezuela say the government is deploying militiamen and army units to the Colombian border and nearby tollbooths, moving to militarize the area.-Faytuks Network on X

Shark Tank pitch: I was the first person in my family to go to college. my idea is an app that lets homeowners set up tollbooths for the sidewalk in front of their house

Dragon's Den pitch: I sell drop-shipped necklaces that say "adulting like a boss" and "your. dreams. FUCKING. matter,"
Shark Tank pitch: I am a veteran who served in the crossing guard annihilator division. My idea is a spoon w/ bluetooth
host: Bad numbers. Report to the flensing chamber at once!

Dragon's Den pitch: The world doesn't believe Canadians drink coffee. I'm here to challenge that notion
host: thank you.

Male it make sense.

Hahahaha, but that's when Kathy Hochul reveals her master plan, immediately institutes congestion pricing on everyone who came into town for this, they don't get past the NYC tollbooths for days

East toward Ohio. Tall, pink marsh grasses sway along the highway. Ghosts of how we used to travel sit in the empty tollbooths, counting.

I have a very simple and consistent position: all government surveillance, and all private surveillance which the government has access to, is bad, period. Yes, including speed cameras. Yes, including tollbooths without a cash option. Yes, including [any other scenario].

Imagine, if you will, that every single road had been privately financed, with tollbooths every few miles. It wouldn't work well, and would be hideously expensive.

Same goes for other infrastructure.

Oligarchs love tollbooths. Hyper puritanism lets corporations make excuses and charge up the ass to work around it. Gods I hate capitalism.

Meanwhile, bridge and highway fare collection went the other direction - from staffed tollbooths with a barrier, to open lanes with a camera that drivers can go past at full speed.

Result: more dangerous driving now happens in San Francisco.

I'm thinking Iran's strategic goal isn't tollbooths on the Hormuz as much as it is getting US bases out of the Middle East, which strengthens its position against Israel and Arab adversaries.

This is my only anecdote apart from the one where a car with me, the same future Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, and a future MP and Strategic Authority Mayor were approaching the tollbooths on the Humber Bridge, when Tom suddenly said "shit, has anyone got any money?"
Friends, on the matter of dodgy men in transit vans, allow me to tell you about me, two future members of the House of Lords, and the massive suspect package.
