I drew on a middle school teaching experience to write about #namethetranslator, #translatorsonthecover, and #namethesourcelanguage in relation to the needs of young readers. Feedback coveted! HT #ALSC, @antonhur.com, @authorsguild.bsky.social, @philnel.bsky.social:

An accidental #WITMonth book today, & one I'm only blogging about to make sure that the translator gets some recognition because she really doesn't in the physical book.
Sadly no #TranslatorsOnTheCover but I've definitely made sure to #namethetranslator norfolkbookworm.blogspot.com/2025/08/micr...

My subjective impression is that there has, but it’s frustrating that editors/copy editors/reviewers often give so little thought to the translator that it’s possible for us to just be forgotten.
To me, this is a key point in favour of #translatorsonthecover. There, at least, our names will be seen.

Translators play an important and underappreciated role in the sharing of knowledge. They deserve more recognition for what they do.

As a step in that direction I just signed this petition and hope you will too.
