tfw you start writing something in Word because habit, get 500 words in and migrate the whole lot to Typst because actually Typst is just going to do this better.

Typst. I can recommend that.

With a week to go until I submit my thesis, I'm reflecting on my choice to write it all in Quarto. Do I regret that choice? Not really. Would I make the same choice again now? Probably not, I'd strongly consider LaTeX/Overleaf or Typst for ease of collaborative editing.

nothing that i do in my career will make me as proud as releasing my Typst resume template under the unlicense and seeing little forks of it pop up in the wild.

to this day, I'll be asked to review a resume and my first thought is "(☞゚ヮ゚)☞ I KNOW THAT!!"

I will when I stop swearing at Typst because I can't get the sodding thing to let me control the font face of the marginalia rn!

the minor bummer is that a lot of the derivatives strip out the guidance in the file comments, which is really the valuable bits. a template doesn't mean a whole lot if you aren't using it right

Usually I've used LivreOffice writer to make lab reports for uni despite knowing about latex because imho configuring latex for my uni standards was too cumbersome, byt recently I've found myself trying Typst and damn it is magnitudes better!

from ease of installation up to ease of laying out doc!

@rupdecat Can you not use something like Quarto or Typst?
October 30, 2026 at 7:49 AM
Maybe raise an issue on the GitHub to ask about it? (Check first that nobody has asked before)

When using the Typst CLI, you can either set the --root flag to a directory containing both your BibTeX and Typst file, or (and this is preferred for security and UX reasons) symlink the bibliography into your project directory.

god that "TeX is done why would anyone use typst" post is so stupid omg
